Summer 2014 - Week 1

In planning this road trip we knew that the first week was going to be A LOT of driving.  To try and break it up we planned several roadside attractions.  They were greatly appreciated!

Fergus Falls, MN - Abandoned Insane Asylum

Fergus  Falls, MN - Worlds Biggest Otter

Middle of Nowhere, MN - Worlds Largest Booming Prairie Chicken

Jamestown, ND - Worlds Largest Buffalo.  Note: We also saw two albino buffalo here, kind of a big deal.

Close to the end but still far from the border, ND - The Enchanted Highway.  These were probably my favorite! There were constructed by a retired school teacher in an effort to bring in tourists and save his small town.

We camped in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, ND and the wildlife was super fun to see and fear.

North Dakota and Eastern Montana can be summed up in the following photo - beautifully boring!

After 3 days we started to get to the interesting parts of Montana.  We "camped" in Great Falls - read slept at a Wal-Mart - and saw beautiful waterfalls and a fish hatchery.

During Week 1 we made also made it to Glacier National Park and Seattle to see Alli and Garret.  However those photos are on Aaron's phone and seeing as how we are watching the world cup (Go USA!) while I post this, his phone is a bit preoccupied so I'll post those soon!
